Computer brands

Computer brands

There are many “brands of computers” on the market today many you have heard of and many you may not have heard of. The most popular computer brands are big names like “Dell” and “HP” along with “Compaq” even “Gateway” but that does not mean that the other brands such as “eMachines” or “Acers” cannot compete. Making computer brand choices can be confusing because many Brands have association with each other such as Gateway and Emachines.

When purchasing a computer you must make decisions based on many things and in doing this you must also know what the primary use of your computer will be so that you will have chosen one to meet your needs. If you are interested in a computer for gaming needs you will want to look at the graphics cards to make sure they are compatible with your choice of computer gaming software whereas games like “Hallow 3” will typically require higher graphics cards to run on any system no matter your brand of choice.

The most important part of the computer is the processor, it does not matter what brand you have chosen but if you don’t have a high processor your computer will be slow running making your access to programs and the internet very difficult and somewhat frustrating. Throughout the years computers have grown dramatically obtaining a higher version of multi- processors such as “dual cores” and “quad cores” with many more to come in the future. Systems that have “Dual Cores” and “Quad Core” processors are among the most expensive most chosen computer systems. There are three main processor companies: AMD, Intel and Cyrix. Each of these companies is close in reliability and compatibility.

Moving forward to another major detail which can make a great difference in your chosen system brand would be “Ram” it is placed right up there with the processer. All brands of computers will require a specific type of ram. The ram can be purchased directly from the store if you’re looking to add more memory to your computer. One would need to know the type of motherboard in the computer brand you have because certain systems will hold a certain capacity of ram meaning some systems will hold two, some will hold four and some may hold more. Certain Ram chips would fit in your “Ram slots” but may not be compatible to allow your system to run. The “Ram” is a key provider in being able to have more than one page opened on your computer screen at the same time. Did you know that without a specific amount of “Ram” your computer would not even be able to run “windows software” properly?

Loading too many programs on your computer can also cause your computer to crash if your hard drive is not equipped to hold larger capacities. Every computer system should show your computers condition such as system programs and memory. Many computers can alert you when it’s time to do a system cleaning that deletes unnecessary files and programs that you do not use. All computer brand manufacturers will not allow free upgrades but its best to upgrade your system at least once every year.

Be careful of the eye candy, these are the computers from manufacturers that are tailored more for the designs and less for the specifics meaning many will in fact purchase these because they look slightly different just to be disappointed in the future. If you are not quite sure of yourself making the decisions towards purchasing a new computer do take someone with you that knows about computers or what you’re looking for because in stores the main focus of the salesperson will be commissions or just making the sale.
Now that you know a little more about computers than when you started out do your research on a few more of the brands like Mesh,Sony,Packard Bell,Phillips,Toshiba,ProStar,IBM,Sun Microsystems, Fujitsu, and Advert to see what you come up with. Remember just because the name is popular among stores, websites, word of mouth, or television it does not mean that it’s the right system for you. While you’re checking out the different brands always check out what they have to offer.

If ever you purchase a system and there is a problem with it make sure that the manufacturer offers online tech support or that you also purchased a warranty. Compaq and Gateway have great tech support as well as Apple but the rest should offer these services as well or you might want to stay away from the company’s products that don’t offer tech support.
